For many years, SCS was a reseller of the Scoop editorial system developed by SCOOP Publishware, AB in Sweden. In 2017, we purchased the rights to the system (then called Scoop 5) and its source code from Ulf Wilkenson, the CEO.
Ulf also sold his entire company to a former 25% partner, Jussi Siintola, owner of Mediabox Oy in Finland.
As of August 3, 2017, SCS has an agreement with Modiabox OY giving us joint copyright ownership of the Scoop code and intellectual property.
Jussi will supply development resources focused on InDesign plugins. We will focus on the rest. We will not compete with each other. Our territory is the Western Hemisphere and his is the rest of the world.
We have embarked on a re-engineering and rewrite of parts of the product and we are calling it Scoop 7.
In addition we are engaged in a joint venture with Presteligence which integrates their digital CMS (My News 360) with Scoop 7's newsroom and print management.
