Kurt began working at SCS in 1993 after working for two years with INSI in their advertising systems division. Prior to that, Kurt worked with Ingersoll Publications at various sites in both the systems area and circulation.
Kurt's first assignment at SCS was to develop and deploy a Circulation System for SCS's ever growing product line. This was completed and deployed in 1994 at the Albany Herald in Albany, Georgia.
Kurt has been responsible for the delivery of all SCS contracts and customer satisfaction, as well as day to day staff operations. Over the years Kurt has been heavily involved in International sales and is responsible for our 3rd party vendor relations.
On September 2, 2021, Kurt purchased SCS from longtime owners Richard and Martha Cichelli.

Phil began working at SCS in 2002 after graduating from DeSales University with a degree in Management of Information Technology and Marketing. Phil’s first role at SCS was as Sales & Applications Representative for Layout-8000. After turning it into the successful revenue stream it continues to be for SCS, Phil began selling SCS/ClassPag and SCS/Track.
Phil was named Director of Sales in 2006, and in 2022, was promoted to Vice President of Sales. He is responsible for sales of all advertising and production systems, including the Community Advertising System and the Production Suite.
“I relish that SCS allows me to work with newspapers of all shapes and sizes," Phil says. "I’ve had the opportunity to travel around the United States meeting with people from end-users to publishers at community weeklies to large corporations.”
When not working at SCS, Phil enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies and being a die-hard fan of the New York Mets.
